Just a quick post – we fly out tomorrow on Qantas flight 9, Melbourne (duh) to Dubai. You can track it live here: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA9
It leaves (hopefully) at 16:15 and we arrive in Dubai at around 23:25 local time, all going well. Please keep an eye on it and if the flight disappears from the screen give Tony Abbott a ring.

We spend a few days in Dubai on the way back where we can see the sights and do some shopping.
