We’re preparing for our next big trip since 2019 – we’ve done a couple of short trips to WA, Tasmania, Uluru, Cairns and a cruise, but we’re getting ready for a 5 and a half week European jaunt. A friend has agreed to stay at the house and look after the cats.
We’re going to 7 countries, including the tiny ones that not many people get to – Liechtenstein, San Marino and Andorra, as well as France, Italy and Spain. After this, I will have been to every European country except Sweden, plus Moldova and Ukraine, and will probably never get to those last 2 for obvious reasons.
We’re visiting about 21 towns and cities and we’ve spent the last few weeks frantically booking hotels, trains and buses. Some journeys are around 8 hours and involve changing trains a few times, so we’ll be amazed if it all comes together without a hitch, but I’m not going to be surprised if we miss a train here and there. Song has done all the hard work researching where to go and how long to spend in each place, and packed everything for both of us. As usual, all I have to do is turn up.
We leave on 12th March, stay a night in Singapore, then criss-cross Europe going from Paris to Switzerland to Liechtenstein to San Marino to France to Andorra to Spain then back to France then Singapore then home. Phew.
